Learn Bitcoin was launched to educate the next billion Bitcoiners. By breaking complex topics down into simple, easy to understand concepts, the student becomes excited about the technology as opposed to being overwhelmed by it.
Keith Laska, Founder of Learn Bitcoin, and Professor of Bitcoin at Fordham, is passionate about the topic, but was frustrated by the lack of high quality, easy to understand education in the market. To understand Bitcoin, he had to spend thousands of hours across YouTube, social media, books and attending conferences.
The conclusion he came to is that Bitcoin is a once-in-a-generation money transformation, and most people won't understand it until it's too late. So he put a team of passionate Bitcoiners together, and launched the company.
From the outset, Keith and team had a few focus points:
- Education on this platform would be Bitcoin-only. In the eyes of the SEC, “tokens” like crypto and NFTs are unregistered securities, and people should be cautious in their approach.
- They would apply to professionally recognized organizations like the CFP Board and IWI so that Financial Advisors and other professionals could learn while earning their CE credits.
- They would donate a portion of every dollar earned to charity. You can see a list of the charities they have donated to below.
